Aerospace and Defense Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD STAN)

Aerospace and Defense Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD STAN), formerly known as the Association of European Aircraft and Component Manufacturers (AECMA), publishes standards for products, quality systems and product support for the European aerospace industry. ASD STAN is the recognized body in Europe for the preparation and promotion of European standards (EN) for aerospace application (civil and military), and an associated body to the European Committee for Standardization (CEN).

Publications issued by ASD STAN are used worldwide by engineers and technicians involved in the design, manufacture and maintenance of aircraft and aircraft components.

The collection of ASD STAN documents includes active, current version and previous edition prENs (preliminary European standards) as well as technical reports.

ASD STAN publications cover the following general areas:

• General data concerning threads, definitions, technical drawings, identification rules, designation and codification.

• Materials and semi-finished products, including steel and heat resisting alloys, nonferrous metals and alloys, nonmetallic materials and semi-finished products.

• Fasteners such as bolts, rivets, screws, studs, nuts, washers and pins.

• Articulated joints, mechanical transmissions and controls, including bearings for articulated joints, rods and spherical joints, flexible controls, wire ropes, chains, cable ends, tension adjusters and pulleys.

• Fluid systems and components, including general data on pipelines and hose assemblies.

• Electrical/electronic systems and components, including cable, cable outline accessories, cable ties, connectors, circuit breakers and electrical and optical connection devices.

This option allows the greatest flexibility allowing you to pick and choose specific documents, whether they come from one or more SDOs. IHS does not require that you purchase a minimum number of documents to use this option. Your custom collection allows for multiple users at multiple locations to access the documents you have chosen.

Individual Purchase

All standards are also available for purchase as individual documents through the IHS Standards Store in PDF or hard copy formats. 

Deposit Accounts

Deposit accounts are a great way for a customer with online access to obtain the individual standards they need. Using a deposit account, an online customer can obtain PDF and hard copy documents outside of their online subscription. For the hard copy customer, this is perfect way to control purchasing and reduce paperwork. Most documents and publications purchased through a deposit account received a 10% discount from the regular price.
