Seismic Location Data (Canada) (formerly MapIt)

Seismic Location Data melds power and flexibility with dynamic data layers to display 100% available seismic location data. Currently comprised of over 600,000km of 2D and 3D data, the database features detailed attribute information, including vintage, fold, source, shot and group intervals, spread geometry and more.

The Seismic Location dataset derives data from government sources, directly from Oil companies, as well as from companies that manage seismic data. Seismic Location Data contains the most historical information of any seismic offering, with IHS storing all of the originals onsite.

IHS manually performs quality assurance in addition to each individual source performing quality control of its seismic data. If errors are reported with seismic lines, IHS will investigate why the error occurred (e.g. a missing line) and correct it. Most clients see changes within 24 hours after update or with the monthly AccuMap release.
