The International Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS) creates standards that apply to quality and compatibility issues for the storage, processing, transfer, display, management, organization and retrieval of computerized data. INCITS serves as the American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) Technical Advisory Group for the Joint Technical Committee 1 (JTC 1) of the International Standards Organization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). JTC 1 is responsible for international standardization in the field of information technology (IT).
INCITS standards documents include the widely referenced T10 for peripheral connection - or small computer system interface (SCSI or "skuzzy"); T11 for X3T9.3 fiber channel storage networking and T13, detailing advanced technology attachments (ATA) used for CD-ROMs and hard drives.
The INCITS collection covers a wide breadth of industry topics such as:
