Jürgen Sorgenfrei has over 20 years experience in global trade, shipping, port and hinterland operations, including port planning and development, transportation marketing and regional economics.
Prior to joining IHS, he served as chairman, sales and marketing for the Port of Hamburg, headquartered in Germany but with an additional 13 offices in Europe, Asia and the US. Mr. Sorgenfrei received his diploma in Economics from Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel, Germany and wrote his dissertation at the University of Hamburg's Institute for Traffic Science. He is regular lecturer at different universities.
Christopher Pälsson is Director of IHS Fairplay and site manager for the Gothenburg office. Pälsson has a wide experience ranging from practicing business development to transport and logistics studies for manufacturing industries, governmental agencies, ship owners and business organizations. Pälsson has, in different functions, worked with shipping and industrial market analysis since the end of the 1980’s.
In the 1990’s, Pälsson was Managing Director of Equilibrium, a shipping consultancy firm. Pälsson was the Administrative Official at the Swedish Transport and Communications Research Board handling funding of research projects. He was appointed national expert of Sweden in the EU PACT program (Pilot Actions Combined Transportation). Up to joining Lloyd’s Register-Fairplay (now IHS Fairplay), Pälsson was Manager for Strategic Analysis at the Institute of Shipping Analysis (SAI).
Based in Singapore, Tony Nash manages the non-energy and public sector consulting practice for IHS Consulting. Prior to joining IHS, he was responsible for the growth of the Economist Intelligence Unit’s customised research business, with focus on Asia’s governments and multinational firms.
His project experience includes building forecasting scenarios of the consumer goods sectors in China’s local markets; market sizing for specialised automotive products across India, Russia and Africa; assisting with negotiating frameworks for bilateral free trade and environmental agreements; and benchmarking national competitiveness of technology, financial services and other industry sectors across developed and developing markets.
He has a Masters degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and a BA in Business Management from Texas A&M University. Mr. Nash is a frequent speaker and facilitator of strategic discussions with business and government leaders.
