Terry Pattar

What brought you to IHS?

I joined IHS to help government and corporate clients improve their understanding of potential security threats.  IHS Jane’s has a great brand presence in the defense sector and I wanted to see if we could expand that into the security sector.

What excites you about what you do here?

I’m now into my third year of working for IHS and I’m still finding new ways to help our clients.  I’m looking forward to being a part of IHS Consulting as we reach out to more clients and grow our business over the coming years.  I hope to progress within the organization by further developing my own consulting skills and broadening my experience.

How do you balance work and play?

I think it’s vital to have a balance and to ensure that I have time away from my work on the weekends whenever possible.  When I can approach my work on Mondays with fresh eyes, it enables me to have new ideas and more creativity.  Having a range of interests outside of the office also helps me to bring something extra to my day-to-day work and gives me a sense of perspective that is vital for understanding geopolitical security issues and how our clients relate to them.
