BSI - British Standards Institution
IHS works in association with BSI to offer the most current British Standards Online. BSI content is also available
through The Construction Information Service (CIS) and The Occupational Health & Safety Information Service.
BSI British Standards is the National Standards Body of the UK and develops standards and standardisation solutions to meet the needs of business and society. They work with government, businesses and consumers to represent UK interests and facilitate the production of British, European and international standards.

The Chartered Institute of Building
The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) partnership gives IHS the rights to reproduce CIOB publications within The Construction Information Service (CIS).
With over 42,000 members the CIOB is a body of knowledge concerning the management of the total building process. CIOB members are drawn from a wide range of professional disciplines working within building and construction supply chains and are skilled managers and professionals with a common commitment to achieving and maintaining the highest possible standards. Chartered Member status, represented by the designations MCIOB and FCIOB, is recognised internationally as the mark of a true professional in the construction industry.
The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health
The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and IHS collaborative agreement brings together access to expert knowledge for Health, Safety and Environmental (H,S&E) professionals in The Occupational Health & Safety Information Service (OHSIS).
This agreement grants IHS the sole rights to include CIEH publications in The Occupational Health & Safety Information Service (OHSIS) a leading source of technical information for the H,S&E industry, including the development of joint publications and product initiatives to better support industry professionals in meeting their information needs.
The CIEH is a registered charity and the professional voice for environmental health. It sets standards, accredits courses and qualifications for the education of members and other environmental health practitioners.
It provides information, evidence and policy advice to local and national government and environmental and public health practitioners in the public and private sectors. A s an awarding body, the CIEH provides qualifications , events, and support materials on topics relevant to health, wellbeing and safety to develop workplace skills and best practice.
The CIRIA and IHS Partnership
CIRIA is a member-based research and information organisation dedicated to improvement in the construction industry. Founded in 1960, currently there are 500 subscribing organisations.
CIRIA’s work is recognised as being independent, objective and authoritative. CIRIA provides a means through which the many different stakeholders in the modern built environment can work together to identify, codify, publish and promote the emerging best practice in the industry. In this way, CIRIA continually seeks to raise the standard of excellence in the broad construction sector beyond the “lowest admissible acceptability” for designers and constructors set by the framework of legislation, statutory regulations and codes of practice. CIRIA’s primary aims are to improve the quality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness and safety in both the provision and operation of the modern built environment.
The Concrete Society and IHS Partnership
The Concrete Society and IHS partnership agreement grants IHS rights to include a wide range of Concrete Society, British Cement Association
and British Precast Concrete Federation publications in The Construction Information Service (CIS).
The activities of The Society's advisory, technical development, professional/business networking, CPD and information services provide the construction industry with a major focal point for information and a proactive forum for debate and action. The Society plays a vital role in encouraging the use and development of concrete as a uniquely versatile and competitive material.
Emap Construct, AJ, NCE, CN and IHS Joint Venture
The Emap partnership gives IHS exclusive rights to supply online access to the renowned AJ material through IHS comprehensive range of online construction products.

The Fire Protection Association
The Fire Protection Association (FPA) and IHS have created a collaborative agreement to give subscribers access to key fire safety, fire prevention
and fire protection advice, guidance and support in OHSIS - the UK’s leading daily updated online health & safety information service.
The agreement grants IHS the online rights to include FPA documents and publications in OHSIS, a leading source of technical information for the H,S&E industry. Publications will include design guides, risk controls, Fire Risk Management guidelines, Essentials of Fire Safety Management.
OHSIS is a fast, reliable, online platform for all health, safety & environment information, providing access to current legislation, guidance, standards and best practice documents.
The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE)
The Institution of Structural Engineers is the world’s leading professional body for structural engineering.
Founded in 1908, the Institution now has more than 22,000 members in 109 countries. Its aim is to promote excellence in structural engineering, and its members are recognised as leaders for their technical and professional expertise.
The Institution of Structural Engineers has a dual role and twin aims; those of a learned society and as a qualifying body for the profession. Its aims are 'to promote the science and art of structural engineering and the achievement of excellence in construction, and to further the education and competence of its members.
The LACORS (the Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services) and TSI (The Trading Standards Institute)
IHS is in a tri-partite partnership with LACORS and the Trading Standards Institute. The Trading Standards Specialist has been produced by the partnership and is an online database of legislation for trading standards, food and environmental health professionals.
The LACORS (the Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services)LACORS (the Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services) provides advice and guidance
guidance to help support local authority regulatory and related services. It was set up in 1978 to coordinate the enforcement activities of trading standards. Since 1991, LACORS has also worked on food safety and is currently responsible for a range of other regulatory and related services.
The Trading Standards Institute (formerly the Institute of Trading Standards Administration - ITSA) is a professional association
formed in 1881. It represents Trading Standards professionals in the UK and overseas - in local authorities, the business and consumer sectors and in central government.
The NBS
The NBS and IHS have worked in partnership for over 20 years, providing construction industry professionals with access to an extensive library of technical documents.
The relationship continues to go from strength to strength, designing and implementing new products for new markets, and continually updating and improving existing products.
NBS is the publisher of the National Building Specification. A part of RIBA Enterprises Ltd and owned by the Royal Institute of British Architects, NBS operates to generate income for the benefit of RIBA members.
Network Rail
IHS works in partnership with Network Rail to continually improve and enhance Network Rail Standards an essential sources of information for any organisation working in the railway industry.
Network Rail run, maintain and develop Britain’s tracks, signaling system, rail bridges, tunnels, level crossings, viaducts and 17 key stations.
Perry Scott Nash Associates Ltd
Perry Scott Nash Associates comprises a team of qualified and experienced professionals offering a wide range of environmental health consultancy support services to the commercial, retail and service sectors. The business was founded by Pat Perry, a qualified Environmental Health Officer, in 1988. It has grown by reputation and now employs over 30 people.
The Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland
IHS work in partnership with RIAI (The Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland). RIAI content is available through The Construction Information Service (CIS) for the Irish market upon request.
The Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland, founded in 1839, is the representative body for professionally qualified architects in Ireland. The RIAI's qualifications for membership are accepted by the Government, the courts and the EU as the required standard.
The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland
Together IHS and RIAS (The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland) aim to improve the information services
available to RIAS members, through access to The Construction Information Service - delivering critical documents to sole practitioners and practices throughout Scotland.
The RIAS was founded in 1916 as the professional body for all chartered architects in Scotland and is the foremost architectural professional institute in the country dealing with architecture and the built environment. It has charitable status and offers a wide range of services and products for architects, students of architecture, construction industry professionals and all those with an interest in the built environment and the design process.
Steel Construction Institute
The partnership with SCI allows IHS to include a wide range of SCI technical guidance and design data information in The Construction Information Service.

Transport Research Laboratory
IHS works in partnership with TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) to include a wide range of TRL reports,
leaflets, technical guidance and design data in The Construction Information Service (CIS).
TRL provides independent and impartial world class research, consultancy, advice and testing for all aspects of transport.
