Thang Long JOC tests Cuu Long Basin appraisal - Vietnam

Thang Long Joint Operating Company (TLJOC) has reportedly successfully tested the Basement section at Hai Su Den 2X ST (15-2/01-HSD 2X ST) in Block 15-2/01 in December 2008. The appraisal was drilled by the Premium Drilling "Wil Superior" J/U in 42m of water to a measured depth of about 5,800m, or 3,653m true vertical depth. The primary target was the pre-Tertiary fractured granite Basement with a secondary objective in the Miocene and Oligocene sandstone formation.

Testing was conducted throughout February 2009. IHS understands that the first test in the Basement section flowed and a second test was undertaken in Miocene-Oligocene secondary target. Further details are awaited. Hai Su Den 3X (15-2/01-HSD 2X) will be spudded in March 2009.
