IEEE Amends Generator Standards

IEEE approved the update of IEEE C50.12 and IEEE C50.13 to put the standards in line with current industry criteria.

Both standards, sponsored by the IEEE Power Engineering Society, were updated to make them compatible, where possible, with the IEC 34-1 and IEC 34-3 standards.

IEEE C50.13 combines the range of IEEE C50.14 and IEEE C50.15 for cylindrical rotor synchronous generators, IEEE said.
