While timing remains uncertain, PetroCeltic is confident it will commence its multi-well drilling program that will be focused on the TXA Couloir Ridge structure in the Isarene exploration permit, blocks 228/229, Illizi Basin. The company submitted appraisal programs for the Hassi Tabtab (HTT) and Issaouane South (ISAS) discoveries and is also planning to drill the Ain Tsila Ridge prospect in the Isarene permit. In total there are plans for a minimum of seven exploration wells, four of which are shallow wells and three are deep wells targeting the Ordovician play. The planned shallow drilling progam consists of one well on the Gara Tin Tamelra 1 oil rim and three appraisals of earlier Devonian-Carboniferous gas discoveries. The planned deep drilling progam consists of two appraisal wells on the Ain Tsila ridge Ordovician gas prospect and one well on the Southwest Isarene Ordovician oil prospect. Timing of the first well is expected shortly as the company, in mid August 2008 completed an 890 sq km 3D seismic wide azimuth survey over the North Ain Tsila Ridge that included the HTT and ISAS structures. PetroCeltic estimates that the prospective recoverable reserves for the ridge are in excess of 2 Tcf, and that the HTT and ISAS structures contain in-place gas resources of around 900 Bcf.
