IHS Acquires EnvironMax, Inc.

Leading Supplier of Environmental, Health & Safety Compliance Solutions

Enhances IHS Environmental Management Offering

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (Oct. 1, 2007) — IHS Inc. (NYSE:IHS), a leading global provider of critical technical information, decision-support tools and strategic services, today announced the acquisition of Salt Lake City-based EnvironMax, Inc., a leading provider of environmental management information systems (EMIS) solutions primarily to government and defense markets. Terms of the sale are $22.5 million in cash and 65,000 shares of IHS stock with a one-year lock up.

Tarr, President and Chief Operating Officer, Engineering segment of IHS. “This acquisition leverages the strong IHS position in aerospace and defense, and broadens our emerging environmental business helping our customers address critical issues related to hazardous materials and the environment. This addition to our portfolio comes at a time when environmental and sustainability issues are of significant and growing importance to businesses and governments worldwide.”
