IHS Inc. Files Registration Statement for Secondary Sale of Common Stock by an Existing Stockholder

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., – September 29, 2006 – IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS) announced today that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission relating to a proposed secondary offering of $300 million of its Class A common stock, including an option for the underwriters to purchase additional shares of common stock.  The shares are being offered by an existing IHS stockholder.  IHS will not receive any proceeds from the sale of the shares being registered.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Citigroup Corporate and Investment Banking are acting as joint book-running managers, with Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated acting as joint lead manager, and KeyBanc Capital Markets and Piper Jaffray & Co. acting as co-managers for the offering.
