IHS Names Richard Walker as Senior Vice President Corporate Development

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., — November 20, 2006 — IHS Inc. (IHS: NYSE), a leading global provider of critical technical information, decision-support tools, and strategic services, today announced the appointment of Richard G. (Rich) Walker as senior vice president, corporate development, effective immediately.  Walker, an expert in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, will be responsible for leading and executing the company’s aggressive acquisition plans to support the top and bottom-line growth strategies of IHS.

Walker joins IHS most recently from Autobytel Inc., where he was COO and previously its executive vice president of corporate development and strategy. During his tenure, Rich was responsible for several acquisitions, all of which significantly improved the strategic positioning of the company. 

Prior to Autobytel, Walker was vice president at LoneTree Capital Management, a private equity fund investing in and advising early-stage communications companies.  Before LoneTree, Walker served as vice president of corporate development at MediaOne Group, and executive director of corporate development at US WEST.  He originally joined US WEST in 1990 and previously held leadership positions in investor relations, business development, and strategic marketing.  Rich began his career in 1986 as a certified public accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Atlanta, GA, working as a senior staff member in their audit and tax groups as well as their financial consulting services division.

Walker graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Business from the University of Colorado and holds an MBA, Executive Program from the University of Denver.
