IHS Energy Forms Joint Sales and Marketing Agreement With Trango Technologies Inc. of Calgary

HOUSTON - (Feb. 21, 2005) - IHS Energy, the leading provider of oil and gas information, and related software and consulting services, announced today it has signed a sales alliance and joint marketing agreement with Trango Technologies of Calgary, Alberta, to market Trango's exploration data management software and solutions in the U.S. Under this agreement, IHS Energy's Data Logic Services division, a leader in the management of data assets for the oil and gas industry, will act as a sales and services provider for Trango's products in the U.S. IHS Energy and Trango will work together to provide data migration, support, training and related data-quality services.

"Trango is well known in Canada for its high-quality, user-friendly applications, which are critical for the cataloging and inventory of E&P data assets," said Jim Wortham, director of Sales for IHS Energy's Data Logic Services division. "This agreement will enable us to offer our U.S. customers a complete, turnkey software and services solution for managing their physical E&P data assets."

The software in this sales alliance includes Trango Manager and Trango ViewerT. Trango Manager combines ESRI ® GIS technology, with Oracle ® on a Microsoft .NET ® framework to deliver an integrated data management and delivery system that provides E&P companies with advanced capabilities to track, display, modify and deliver their seismic, well and related exploration data assets. Trango Viewer provides dynamic access to Trango Manager through the company intranet. It is tailored to meet the needs of geoscientists, legal teams, and other corporate groups by helping them easily perform searches and requests for data through a simplified Web-based, GIS interface. Trango's software, in conjunction with IHS Energy's data services expertise, will enable users to better track the availability and location of their important data assets.
