(IHS - www.ihs.com ), the leading international provider of content integration and decision support tools, technical standards, codes and product specifications, parts management and logistics solutions, today announced that it acquired the assets of Intermat, Inc. (www.intermat.com) , the world's leading provider of parts optimization software tools and services.
The Intermat customer service and product development operations, and current product families - including Struxure®, SMD™ (Standard Modifier Dictionary) and MRO.Master™ - will continue as Intermat Solutions, under the IHS brand, from their Houston, Texas facilities. The worldwide IHS sales organization and IHS dealer network will sell and implement the Intermat Solutions products and parts optimization services.
For 26 years, Intermat has helped Global 2000 companies optimize and manage their maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) parts and equipment catalogs. The integration of Intermat's MRO software tools and services will enable IHS to market the broadest suite of parts management products and solutions to customers in aviation and aerospace, architecture/engineering/construction, automotive, electronics and electrical, government and military, petrochemical and energy, telecommunications, utilities, and other manufacturing industries.
