Jeff TarrJeffrey R. Tarr, Co-President & Co-Chief Operating Officer, IHS Inc.

Jeff Tarr has been president and chief operating officer of the Engineering segment of IHS since 2004. During his tenure, Jeff has led significant improvement in the financial performance of that segment of our business.

Jeff was previously Chairman and CEO of Hoover's, a publicly traded business information service provider. He joined Hoover's in May 2001, leading the company to profitability and strong double-digit growth by redefining Hoover's strategy, reducing costs and improving employee satisfaction. In March 2003, Jeff led the sale of Hoover's to Dun & Bradstreet (D&B). Upon completion of the acquisition, he was retained by D&B as president of the new subsidiary.

Jeff began his career with Bain & Company, a leading strategy consulting firm, based in its Paris office. Later he was a vice president and general manager with US WEST where he served on the executive team of the corporation's $1.5 billion revenue Yellow Pages publishing subsidiary (now Dex Media, a division of R.H. Donnelley) and led the creation of the company's leading Internet yellow pages business. During his career, Jeff also served as CEO of all.com, a provider of online technical support and led sales and marketing for an international entertainment software publisher.

Jeff holds a BA in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University and an MBA from Stanford University.



Scott KeyScott Key, President and COO, Jane’s Information Group; IHS Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Marketing

Scott C. Key was named president and COO of Jane’s, which IHS acquired in June 2007. Key also serves on the IHS Inc. executive team as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Marketing with responsibility for strategic planning, market assessment and opportunity analysis, marketing communications and product marketing for the organization. Key brings over 20 years of diverse international and U.S. experience to IHS, with responsibilities spanning executive and operational management positions, product management, software and technology development, large scale computing, sales and marketing.

Prior to joining IHS in 2003, he served as a senior executive with GX Technology focusing on Business Development, Marketing and Strategic Initiatives, and from 2000 to 2002 as executive vice president & COO for NuTec Energy Services Inc., both of Houston. Key served as deepwater development manager for Vastar Resources from 1998 to 2000, successfully initiating Vastar's deepwater reservoir appraisal and development efforts, and was employed by Phillips Petroleum from 1987 to 1998, where he held a variety of positions of increasing scope and responsibility, including strategic planning director in Corporate Strategic Planning, and domestic and international roles in exploration, field development, as well as research and development. He began his career in technology development in a research capacity, specializing in reservoir characterization and modeling. Prior to joining Phillips, he provided technology development consulting to Amoco Production Company and Mobil Oil.

A frequent speaker and author, Scott has written on numerous subjects covering a range of management, technology and development topics. Scott has also achieved certification in numerous technical and professional courses. He is fluent in both English and Norwegian, and has partial fluency in Danish, Swedish.

A graduate of the University of Washington in Seattle, Key earned bachelor of science degrees in both physics and mathematics in June 1985. He earned his master's degree in geophysics from the University of Wyoming in 1987, receiving Phi Kappa Phi honors.



Thomas LittmanThomas Littman, Senior Vice President, Technical Publishing

Thomas (Tom) Littman is responsible for building and maintaining Standards Developing Organizations (SDO) relationships, product management, marketing, and e-business and project data management. Tom has over 35 years experience in the areas of business operations, sales, services, e-commerce, manufacturing, production, and distribution.

He began his career at IHS in 1984 on the U.S. east coast in the field sales organization and then accelerated through a variety of field positions, becoming Director of Sales in 1989. Since 1990 Tom has held several executive positions, including Director of Executive Operations, Senior Director of D.A.T.A. Business Publishing, and Vice President of International Operations. From 1995 to 1999, Tom was Senior Vice President and then President of Global/DATA Resources. Later he became Senior Vice President of International Sales for the Engineering segment and then ran Global Engineering Documents, leading to all of Technical Publishing.

Tom studied business at Wayne State in Nebraska.



Andrew Sadler-SmithAndrew Sadler-Smith, Senior Vice President of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA)

Andrew Sadler-Smith joined IHS in February 2003 as Senior Vice President of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) based in Bracknell, United Kingdom (U.K.). He is responsible for EMEA sales operations. In this role, Andrew has achieved regional integration resulting in the establishment of one cohesive entity, which includes TiUK and ESDU as well as IHS European and South African subsidiaries and dealers. His extensive knowledge of the EMEA marketplace enables IHS to continue to grow and strengthen our presence in this region.

Andrew brings to IHS over 20 years experience in solution selling, systems integration, software development, and strategic partnering in information technology industries as well as structuring organizations on a pan-European basis. In addition, he has a successful track record in building international operations, especially in the IT industry. He most recently served as Director of International Operations for Axway, Sopra Group, a European systems integration company based in France. His previous positions include Regional Vice President, Northern Europe for Novell; UK Country Manager for Systems Center, Washington D.C; and Business Unit Manager for Cincom Systems, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Biomedical Electronics from Salford University, U.K. He has successfully completed Executive Management Training at Babson College in Boston, MA and Business French at IFG in Paris, France.



Paul EversonPaul Evenson, Senior Vice President, Parts & Solutions

Paul Evenson joined IHS in May 2004 and is responsible for the worldwide strategy, product development, and delivery of IHS Enterprise Solutions. Paul joins IHS with more than twenty years of progressive Information Technology (IT) experience, and is known for developing IT strategies and building operations for technology-focused companies resulting in significantly increased levels of customer satisfaction.

Before IHS, Paul was with Affinity Internet, where he held the position of Vice President of Operations, and was responsible for development, engineering, IT, and customer service operations for that $50M web hosting company. His previous positions include Vice President of Integration as well as Vice President of Operations at Cable & Wireless (formerly Digital Island) with responsibility for establishing a world-class global technical organization that managed hosting and network services to Global 500 corporations for critical Internet business applications.

Paul studied Engineering at Oregon State University.



Wain Beard Wain Beard, Senior Vice President - Americas and Asia Pacific, Engineering Segment

Wain Beard joined IHS in June 2005 with more than twenty-five years of sales and sales executive experience. Wain began his career at International Business Machines (IBM) where he held a number of sales and marketing positions.

After holding a District Manager position at the Oracle Corporation, Wain went on to become the Vice President and General Manager of Asia Pacific Operations for Sybase, Inc. He also developed the Latin America region for Sybase, and most recently was responsible for the strategic direction of the Sales, Marketing and Support for North and South America as Senior Vice President & General Manager. Prior to joining IHS, Wain was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Commerce One, Inc.

Wain holds a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco.



Todd Hyatt Todd Hyatt, Senior Vice President of Finance, Engineering Segment

Todd Hyatt rejoined IHS in April 2005 as Vice President of Finance and Sales Operations for the Engineering division. Todd previously worked at IHS as a Senior Finance Director and a Vice President of Finance from 2002-03.

Todd has over twenty years of finance, accounting, and corporate development experience. Todd started his career in public accounting at Arthur Young and Arthur Andersen where he worked as a staff auditor / senior auditor for three years. Subsequent to that, Todd spent five years at AT&T and 10 years at US WEST / MediaOne where he worked in internal audit and in financial planning and analysis and was Executive Director in the Multimedia Ventures Group. Todd also worked for two years as a Vice President at Lone Tree Capital, a private equity firm. Todd most recently worked at Adelphia Communications as a Finance Director where he was involved in due diligence related to the company’s sale process.

Todd has a BS degree in Accounting from the University of Wyoming and an MS degree in Management from Purdue University.



Jo-Nell LabbientiJo-Nell Labbienti, Vice President, Assistant General Counsel

Jo-Nell Labbienti joined IHS in November 2003 as Vice President, Assistant General Counsel. She is responsible for providing counsel on all legal issues for IHS, including domestic and international contracting, acquisitions, corporate compliance, internal audits and HR issues. Jo-Nell has a very strong legal- generalist background and brings to IHS experience in contract and employment law, insurance, finance, and other legal matters that arise in a corporate environment.

Jo-Nell most recently held the position of Senior Counsel at Time Warner Telecom where she was responsible for providing legal guidance to Finance, Regulatory, Sales, Procurement, Marketing, and Human Resources. Prior to Time Warner Telecom, Jo-Nell worked in private practice, served as General Counsel at Teletech, Contract Attorney for Hewlett Packard, and Senior Attorney for Digital Equipment Corporation.

Jo-Nell holds a Bachelor's degree from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA and received her Juris Doctor from the University of South Dakota.



Steve FormanSteve Foreman, Vice President, Strategic Planning, Mergers & Acquisitions

Steve Foreman was named Vice President of Strategic Planning, Mergers & Acquisitions in July 2007 for the Engineering segment. In this role, he will guide strategic initiatives, drive portfolio management for products as well as demand management for shared services. In addition, he will manage the Engineering efforts for identifying, qualifying and integrating M&A candidates. Prior to his current role, he was responsible for the Worldwide Technology Infrastructure supporting IHS customers and internal business solutions. He brings over 25 years of diverse consulting, technology and business change experience to IHS, with responsibilities spanning executive and operational management positions, program management, software & technology development, and process architecture & design.

Prior to joining IHS in 2005, Foreman was VP and CFO of the technology group for a Fortune 500 company. Previous, he spent more than 20 years with Accenture delivering value and driving change for Fortune 1000 companies with focus on Aerospace & Defense, High Technology, and Manufacturing operations. His prior experience includes driving change in business models including setting up shared services.

Steve is a CPA and holds a BS degree in Business Administration/Accounting from the California State Polytechnic University.
